Anthony (Tony) MacCormack Director - Founder
Tony passed away peacefully in December, 2023. He founded MacCormack’s in 1980 after twenty years experience starting as a cadet engineer aged 16, through to senior partner of a South African engineering firm, Hill Kaplan Scott & Partners, who employed over 300 staff, finally through to design manager for Lend Lease, Environ. His role was both ‘big picture’ and project specific. The final responsibility for all our work rested with Tony. At a day to day level, Tony was happy overseeing and reviewing all Building Services sign-offs and documentation, concept design and budgetary estimates for major projects and establishing and initiating all “check” procedures. His knowledge and mentoring is greatly missed but he has instilled a lasting legacy. |
Alistair Guss
Director B. Eng (Industrial) Building Services Project Manager Design and Development Registered Building Practitioner I began my career as a top level ski racer competing for Australia in competitions such as the World Cup and Olympics in 1984, prior to finishing university and joining Mac’s in 1987. Appointed as a Director in 1994. I’m committed from start to finish on every project we undertake - design concept, authority liaison and negotiations, documentation sign-off and site meetings. That’s the excitement of Mac’s - we do all forms of buildings. I love the design development, project delivery and interaction with clients, project consultants, builders, sub-contractors and relevant authorities. I tend to just get in and do it, I have a huge capacity for work and when I do ‘bail-out’, I head for the snow. |
Michelle Christoffersen
Office Manager My role is to look after the company’s financials, secretarial and reception, OH&S Safety Officer, First Aider, HR Assistant including recruitment and staff liaison between other staff members and management and general all-round ‘if you need me I’ll try and help’ if I can. I started at Mac’s in January, 1987 as a junior secretary. It’s been an amazing transformation to see our office go from manual drafting, through to today’s ‘state-of-the-art’ IT. I’m looking forward to seeing what will unfold in the next 20 years. |
Trent Ogden - Director
Electrical Design IT Manager, HR Assistant I’ve been here at Mac’s since 1989 and my role includes designing electrical services including light and power distribution, MATV, Security, intercom, data, communications and emergency and exit lighting.
Highly skilled In Computer System Technology, I have been the company’s System Manager for many years, in charge of technological appraisal, running and upgrade of all components in MAC’s computer networking system. I also assist with HR including staff recruitment, training, implementing new office systems, negotiations with staff on work matters and personal issues, reporting directly to management on staff performance and staff feed back. Spending such a large part of my life at work, I always found it important to enjoy what I do and MacCormack’s have provided me with that opportunity. |
Arthur Tsarouhas - Director
Building Services Project Manager Design and Development Registered Building Practitioner The nature of the building industry dictates that numerous expert parties come together for a common goal - to design and construct complex structures in an efficient and timely manner. It’s only possible to achieve that through teamwork between organisations and within each organisation
At MacCormack’s that culture of teamwork is encouraged and fostered, beginning with the head of the organisation and the heads of each department leading by example. Each team member is treated in a respectful, ethical and honest manner. The outcome is a group that is professional and functions with synergy. |
Fadi Jaoude - Director
Building Services Project Manager Design and Development Registered Building Practitioner NABERS Accreditor I have been a Consulting Engineer both in Australia and abroad for more than 20 years.
My experience in Building Engineering Services encompasses a wide range of projects including high rise commercial and residential buildings, hospitality, health care, education, sports and recreation and others. As a solution provider, we at MacCormack’s merge practicality with creativity. User-focused at all time, we design spaces that support lifestyle, interaction and business objectives. I always respond to our Clients goals to ensure they are satisfied regardless of the size of the project. I am committed to continuously applying my know-how and technical knowledge for the best of the company with the highest levels of professional integrity and commitment. |
